Our Annual Trophies Night

and AGM was held on Thursday, 1st October 2026,

at 8 pm in the Lounge at Johnson Park Sports and Social Club

This special evening was dedicated to celebrating the outstanding show successes of our dedicated growers. It’s a highlight in our calendar, recognising the hard work, passion, and skill that goes into cultivating award-winning produce and plants across our Yeovil Allotments.

We believe in fostering good practice and celebrating every achievement, big or small, ensuring that our membership feels valued and rewarded for their efforts.

I have to apologize for the small error on the medal. The left hand side dot and small circle is missing. It was too late to do anything about it. I have since corrected the error and will be the standard winners medal  from now on.

Report on the Night

There were only a very few at the meeting. Various apologies had been given and out of the trophy winners Janet Gordon and Mark Randall were the main guests. I was allowed to present the trophies this year in the absence of our Chairman,  Manfred and David took  the photos which I have put below. . I also handed out the medals to both. They both secured quite a haul.

The AGM was a quiet affair and although in principle the 3 main officers are remaining in their posts. We did not have enough members present to confirm the three postings,  since a minimum of  10  members are needed at an AGM. This will probably  be done at October's meeting.

I have added the last of the trophy winners pictures this year. Thank you Ramona for taking the pictures and presenting the trophy and medals. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work this year with such hot weather and still produced some wonderful fruit, flowers and vegetables. Well done everyone!

The New Allotment Cup for 2027

It will  be awarded for best kept Member's Allotment, which will be judged in July/August each year by Manfred  Roper our  Chairman and Dave Potten, our go to committee man who liaises with the Town Council on our behalf.

There will  be a set of guidelines for judging the Allotment which will be published and probably emailed around Christmas.

The Cup has arrived and I have somehow left it in the car park at Johnson Park after the Association Social this evening . It has been handed in and is back in my possession.it will be the spare , now as I ordered a new one, just in case.
